At the Circle R we purchase our heifers in late winter each year. Upon receiving them we begin our extensive health program with the females.
To ensure a successful breeding season we feed them up for 4 weeks, at the end of that period we synchronize them and put our low birth weight Express Angus Bulls on them at a rate of 15 heifers for every 1 bull. We leave the bulls on the heifers for 45 days. We then wait 60 days and palpate them. We sell the open heifers. The bred heifers are then processed further into our health program and put on grass for the spring and summer.
